I have lead creative teams (20+) and managed the creative process for some the worlds biggest brands, agencies and well known non-profits. I am a true hands-on creative.
I create award-winning advertising concepts and campaigns. My work goes far beyond promoting clients’ products and services — my strategic and ground-breaking creative drives consumers to think, feel and most importantly, respond and take action. I focus my conceptual design and storytelling skills, developing and executing this vision with vendors and artists both locally and nationally. My expertise is in broadcast, print, OOH, packaging, brand identity and traditional brand advertising while I expanded my knowledge of digital and mobile.
I have served as both staff and freelance Art/Creative Director for leading ad agencies including AAAZA, CDM/LA, Chiat/Day, Dailey & Associates, DDB/Needham/LA, Havas Edge, Hawthorne Direct, Ogilvy & Mather/LA, Publicis/Dialog, RAPP/LA, Ryan Partnership (Catapult), Tracy-Locke/LA, The Cimarron Group (CBO) and Wingman Advertising.
My expansive experience includes art direction and creative leadership for AmaWaterways, American Express, Amgen, Ashton Woods Homes, Assurant Health, Bank of America, Black+Decker, Blockbuster Video, Big Dog Clothing Company, BH Bikes, Broan NuTone, DIRECTV, ChromaDex, Cigna HealthCare, Dyson, Easy Motion Electric Bikes, E! Networks, Good Sam Club, Hamilton Beach, Heineken, HomeAdvisor, Kal Kan Pet Foods, KFC, Minute Maid, Pepsi-Cola, Pillsbury, The Walking Company, TransAmerica, TruNiagen, Universal Studios Hollywood & CityWalk, and Warner Bros. Consumer Products.
As the Founding Vice President/Creative Director of Ryan Partnership in Los Angeles, I built and supervised a cutting-edge creative department of art directors, copywriters and studio production artists. I also founded and ran AitchisonLee, my own successful boutique agency for over four years. Our clients included Big Dog Clothing, DIRECTV, The Good Sam Club, The Walking Company and spcaLA. In addition, I played a key role in the early creative development and successful launch of NetZero, the first free internet provider.
I am a firm believer in helping the less fortunate. I have worked with non-profit organizations including The Bowery Mission, spcaLA, The Shriners Organization, The Rotary Club, The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), United in Light Draft Horse Sanctuary, Casa Pacifica, and The Cancer Support Community. I am extremely proud to have been a member of the marketing committee for the Jewish World Watch’s Solar Cooker Project, which helped provide solar cooker kits to thousands of refugee’s in Darfur and Sudan.
Born and raised in Northern New Jersey, I now live in Southern California with my wife and two sons. Outside of work I have studied martial arts for over 20 years and hold a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. In addition, I have been raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason in the Fraternal Order of Free & Excepted Masons.
